Can my juvenile case that was sealed be erased for good?
when i was late 17 (CA) i was charged with 3 charges of felony and a year of probation but was cut to a single misadeamer charge and 6 months probation but strangely they said it was still a convicted misdemeanor or something that would be reviewed if they should end at 6months
since i would be cleared after im 18 they mentioned it would just be sealed.
does that mean i have to live with the seal forever or is there anyway i can have it erased for good??
please help my future is at stake. (first time offense)
First, sealing is NOT automatic in California. You have to file a petition with the juvenile court to have that done, and it is not available for all convictions. However, unless this was a traffic offense, it should be available for a misdemeanor. If the record is sealed, it is as good as erased.
