how to clean nipples/nipple rings?
im using the playtex drop in system so im not too worried about cleaning bottles. but im wondering how does everybody clean their nipples/nipple rings? do you have to boil them everytime? is it safe to put them in the dishwasher? i heard that high heat (possibly from boiling and dishwasher) leads to bpa (toxin) to leak from the plastic. is this true? would it be okay to boil them before the first use and then just use soap and water after that? would this be safe?
We have used the drop ins system too. First of all, BPA is in not in the silicone nipples so you do not have to worry about the chemical being leached to the nipple by washing it in the dishwasher. The threat of BPA leaking to your baby is only in BPA products. Nipples do not have BPA in them. Unless your baby chews on the rings it should be fine. The dropins themselves are also BPA free.

Also, I wash the nipples and rings after each use. More sanitary. It is recommended to boil nipples once a month but really not necessary since the dishwasher cleans them at such a high temperature!
