Hypoallergenic Formula Question?
Which one is better, Similac Alimentum or the Enfamil Nutramigen?
My son is currently on the Alimentum, but when people find out he's on hypoallergenic formula they automatically ask if he's on the Nutramigen. Is that one better? I looked at the nutritional information and they have all the same ingredients,just slight differences in the amount of each one.
My ped recommened both of them, but just wondering if anybody knew the difference in the two besides the brand. I ended up getting the Alimentum because I couldn't find the Nutramigen at first, but now that I know what it looks like I can find it.
For those of you who who are pro breast feeding... I tried. He has a milk protein allergy which resluted in a severe allergic reaction, thus is why he's on formula now.

Wait... milk protein allergy and he can take that formula? That's puzzling to me because it contains some form of milk proteins. My son is also allergic to milk (and egg) and was able to breastfeed fine and for formula we used soy (which is a lot cheaper than what you are using).
As for the brands, they are both fine. It's just a matter of what makes more sense for you based on the baby's preference/tolerance, what's available in your area, and which is priced better.
I think it's just a more commonly known brand and easier to pronounce.
