Baby does not like her formula?
My 2 month old does not like the taste of her formula, Elecare, but this is the only formula that she is not allergic to so she has to take it. She will drink it if we put some cherry pedialyte in it but that has no nutritional value. I am wanting to know if there are any dye-free concentrated cherry drops available anywhere so that I could just put a few drops in her formula so that she will take it. The doctor says if she gets hungry enough she will take it, but that is not the case. She would rather starve than take this formula. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to flavor her formula so that she will take it?
Do not listen to that uneducated person who told you to put honey in the bottle. Obviously they don't know much about babies health or they would know about the Botulism like another person educated you about and I don't want to repeat what they said...
You could try putting some Dark Karo Syrup in the bottle. This will make the formula sweeter so the baby might drink it better. Also you could put a little Ovaltine if the Karo Syrup does not work. Using the Karo Syrup has other advantages as well and keeps the bowels moving normally. Our children's pediatrician actually recomended that I used this with two of my children who needed soy formula and got constipated because of it... they did seem to drink those bottles faster than the others so I know they liked it. The Ovaltine has vitamins and minerals in it. I remember when my oldest daughter was a baby they used to sell Gerber Milk Flavoring. I have not seen it for quite some time, but it came in flavors such as strawberry and banana. She loved this.
