How do you cut flannel into even squares?
I have 4 yards of flannel that I need to cut into squares that are all the same size. I made an 8 inch template out of cardstock and traced a row of them onto the fabric, but when I started the second row, they weren't lining up correctly. I have a rotary cutter, scissors, and a self healing mat, but I don't have money for any other supplies right now. Any suggestions?
Use your rotary cutter and your mat. Pin down the flannel with a large ruler, aligning it with the markings on the mat (you may have to fold the flannel). Make a long strip as tall as the square needs to be, then turn the strip and make it into squares.
