please help with the decision to change the infant?
My son is 10 weeks. He was born 8 pounds. 1 ounce, and now 13lbs.6oz. He drinks Enfamil Enfamil. Since its birth, it was soft and fussy. mild colic in the evening. Slight regurgitation. For five weeks, moderate eczema that needs special cream every day. At 6 weeks, I tried to go to Gentlease Enfamil which made him the happiest, but gave very stinky farts. What he has done much by way.So we stayed with regular Enfamil. But it is still gas, fussy, and eczema looks like it could get worse. I thought I would try a different formula again, although my ped. he said will not help. I hope not to go to a Nutramagin or Alimentum because of price. Can soy help? Or Something simple perphaps Similac? Is lactose 100% free, compared Gentlease which is only 75% lactose free.I do not think that switching formulas will solve all its problems, but I was hoping to soften slightly. Any advice? Thank you!
You have to find another doctor. I went through the same thing and I discovered that my daughter had acid reflux and stomach is not fully developed so that it could not handle anything other than Alimentum for a few months. There could be an underlying problem. I would not keep switching formulas without the green light to a pediatrician. Find another doctor and get Another view. At the same time, I can tell you that Gripe water helped my daughter a ton. Good luck!
